Energy Transition Tax Credit (CITE)*

The CITE provides a tax allowance for expenditure on the materials used in certain types of energy performance upgrades

  • 30% of total eligible expenditure

Available to all taxpayers, whether owners or tenants, and capped at:

  • €8,000
  • €16,000 for a couple
  • + €400 for each dependent or €200 for alternating custody

Until December 31, 2018.

* Important: there is a limit on tax benefits, so it is impossible to guarantee to clients that the CITE will be obtained without knowing their precise tax situation.


EcoPTZ (home renovation loan)

Interest-free loan to cover a package of works to improve the overall building energy performance:

  • Roof insulation
  • External wall insulation
  • Other energy-related installation and upgrading projects

It is also possible to include additional works made necessary as a result of carrying out the eligible works (painting, electrical wiring, etc.), as well as design costs

Can be combined with the CITE , irrespective of means.

Energy Savings Certificates (CEE)

In the context of the Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) scheme, energy providers and distributors are obliged to enable their customers to save energy

ANAH

For owner/occupiers or co-owners:

ANAH subsidy to upgrade home energy performance, subject to means testing and to the type of household (very modest means or modest means):

  • "Very modest means category":
    • 50% of the total cost of the work, excl. VAT (€10,000 maximum)
    • “Habiter Mieux” benefit: 10% of the cost of the work, excl. VAT, up to €2,000
  • "Modest means category":
    • 35% of the total cost of the work, excl. VAT (€7,000 maximum)
    • “Habiter Mieux” benefit: 10% of the cost of the work, excl. VAT, up to €1,600

To receive this assistance, you must:

  • Be supported by a recognized body
  • Carry out works that improve home energy performance by at least 25 %
  • Be located in a region where a local contract to combat energy poverty has been signed

CAF home improvement loan

For owners or tenants receiving CAF benefits

Loan that can cover 80% of planned total expenditure, up to €1,067.14

1% loan over 3 years


Reduced rate of VAT

The VAT rate was increased from 7% to 10% on January 1, 2014

Nevertheless, VAT is charged at the reduced rate of 5.5% for energy upgrades and associated essential works

  • On products
  • On their installation
  • Where the work is carried out by a contractor

Recognized work is the same as for the CITE, with the same technical criteria to be met.
