ACERMI celebrates its 30th anniversary

As Chairman of the Association*, I am delighted to be able to launch the new ACERMI website to coincide with its 30th anniversary and Batimat 2013. Created jointly by the CSTB and LNE, voluntary ACERMI certification - now a leading European quality mark - has progressed impressively and has succeeded in adapting to many regulatory changes and the challenge of product innovation. More than 600 of its certificates are currently valid, representing a wide-ranging diversity of insulation product families and 110 European production facilities; 53% of them in France.

ACERMI certification has adapted successfully to meet the increasingly high performance levels demanded by thermal insulation regulations, as the 100% increase seen in the number of certificates issued between 2006 and 2012 testifies. And it continues to expand its offer in response to new needs as they emerge. Its recently perfected springboard standard enables companies manufacturing products that are not yet covered by ACERMI certification to obtain certification subject to more stringent inspection requirements.

Our new website delivers on our commitment to improve the information that all industry stakeholders - and private individuals - need, raise the profile of that information and make it a more practical reflection of today's reality in the industry.

Bertrand Delcambre, Chairman of the CSTB and Secretary of the Association*, joins with me in welcoming you to our new website. We hope that it delivers everything you expect, and would welcome your comments and suggestions for any improvements you think we should consider.

Jean-Luc Laurent, Chairman of ACERMI and CEO of LNE

*The roles of ACERMI Chairman and Secretary are fulfilled alternately by the Chairman of the CSTB and his counterpart at LNE.
