A new information channel
For industry professionals

For industry professionals

Following on from the success of the Batimat 2013 conference and the new-look website, ACERMI is continuing the process of bringing forward new communication initiatives to provide even better support for certification stakeholders and partners.

Buyers of certified products, distributors, installers and tradesmen all need regular instructional information about the insulation products certified by ACERMI. Insulation product manufacturers already engaged in the certification process or keen to do so want the option to talk about the benefits that certification brings them, and to have an additional channel for promoting all their latest certified products. Those were the findings of the opinion surveys conducted by ACERMI in 2013.

To meet these respective expectations, ACERMI has therefore launched the Acermi & les pros newsletter, which is structured into four main sections. Headline News contains all the major news stories on insulation and certification. Section two features contributions from the full range of stakeholders. This first issue takes a closer look at the construction trades and user viewpoints. The Manufacturers choose Acermi section gives a manufacturing company the opportunity to explain its commitment and the benefits it gets from this certification. Lastly, the Insulation products and applications section explains a real-life application case history in an informative format. A list of the latest products to receive certification, new publications, meetings and events complete the panoramic overview.

At the moment, this newsletter is a quarterly update for certification stakeholders and partners, who have the choice of reading it in its printed version or online.

30 years of certification

ACERMI certification has developed impressively over its 30-year history. Now a leading European quality mark, more than 600 of its certificates are currently valid, representing a wide-ranging diversity of insulation product families manufactured in 110 European production facilities; 53% of them in France.

Between 2006 and 2013, the number of certificates doubled as a result of adapting its processes to meet the increasing high performance levels demanded by thermal insulation regulations.

ACERMI has also been successful in supporting innovation, which is clear from its inclusion of a succession of new insulation products, like cellulose wadding and sprayed bulk mineral wools. 2013 was also the year in which ACERMI revised its guidelines and introduced product-specific specifications for each of them. 2014 saw a further advance with the award of the first ACERMI certificates as a result of the springboard standard for innovative products.
